South Central Wisconsin Synod, ELCA

The Diakonia program is a two-year process of spiritual formation and theological education for baptized members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America or anyone wishing in good faith to study these teachings.

The Diakonia program is a lay education opportunity that has been very successful in other synods. It consists of 12, 5-week courses offered in a period of two years, 6 courses per school year. The program of study is open to baptized members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America or anyone wishing in good faith to study these teachings. Participants do not earn professional certification or ordination, but will receive a strong foundation of Biblical and theological knowledge as well as skills for ministry.
